Both trackers are now out for today.  As reported earlier at SNIPPETS, Rasmussen has Obama up by two.

Gallup has Obama up by one.

Obama has yet to name his vice-presidential choice.  I doubt if that will give him much of a boost.  He could get a bump from his acceptance speech, but it's unlikely to be the kind of bump he'd hoped for.  And please note that the GOP convention follows the Dem convention immediately.  The Republicans will be on the attack as the Dem delegates are flying home, the elites in their environmentally sound private jets.

Very close, very close.  This will be a bitter campaign.
